Barton v Cumnor Minors U12 Girls

Barton welcomed a strong Cumnor side this morning, we knew it would be a tough match and we were straight in, attacking fiercely for the first 10 minutes and were unlucky not be 2-0 up courtesy of Kimora.

One goal crossed the line, unfortunate not to be given and the other so close with the GK scooping it up, possibly over but very hard to tell....

Cumnor shaped and tightened up, got it together and 2 shots on goal which both hit the back of the net. Cumnor held possession for a 15 mins or so, Tihana made some fantastic dives and saved us few goals in the first half, however Cumnor took full advantage in our area as we gave them too much time on the ball and banged another 3 goals.

Barton took a little dip, heads went down for a moment. Team captain Hope lifted Barton’s spirits and managed to secure us our first goal just before half time.

HT 1 - 5

Quick team talk and reorganisation saw Barton come out in the second half fighting. We held the majority of possession for the full 30 minutes. Georgia moved to CDM solid as always allowed Barton midfield to push up and penetrate Cumnors area.

Antonia debut this week, great addition to the team putting some balls through the centre quickly picked up by Katie, Lottie, Kimora and Hope who played some good football with lovely passing.

Hope secured herself a hatrick, Kimora picked up two goals and our pocket rocket Katie scored her first goal of the season. Barton showed great determination with the whole team working hard together to make a good come back scoring a huge 6 goals in second half.

Claudia GK for the second half showed fantastic agility and quick reflexes making some unbelievable saves. Unfortunately Cumnor didn’t give up either and also managed to score 3 great goals second half.

Player of match was too difficult to split between the two so has to go to both Georgia and Katie. Incredible work rate from them both. Well done
