❤️? Barton Raider’s VS Summertown Meerkat’s ❤️?
- After a couple of late pull outs due to sickness, Raiders knew they was in for a hard game, Vs a very strong Summertown Meerkats team, who have made a few additions over the Summer break.
Raider’s started off very strong, 3 consecutive corners and Raiders pushing more girls forward with each one, lead to a quick Meerkats counter, with the game 10minutes in, a big clearance, Saw the Quick Summertown Striker burst through to slot home into the corner!
0-1 - 1st attack, 1st goal!!!
Barton still a bit shocked from the counter, re-adjusted the formation, composed themselves and suddenly found their playing game, hitting Summertown with wave after wave of attack, only to be denied by last ditch defending or the GK making the save! Felt like it was going to be one of them days, just as it looked like the girls were getting frustrated, with the shear determination from the Meerkats to keep them out, the equaliser came, Kelis winning the ball back, playing it back into Kiki, with a bit of time, she picked out Lara, who then put it out wide to Isla, after beating her player, squared it to Honey, who made no mistake in slotting home from 8 yards ?? on the 31st min!

2 mins Later, a clearance from Lois, saw Mya-Rose chase the ball down beating the Meerkats defender to it, with nothing on and surrounded by defenders, a little trick, saw her leave two defenders wondering where she had gone, now running towards the goal, at an acute angle managed to scoop the ball, onto the back post and in!
2-1 Raiders HT!
2nd half - Raiders were in high spirits, all encouraging each other and communicating well, which also lead to Raiders 3rd - a big kick down field from Caitlin in goal, dropped to Eva who cut back to Summer, hearing Lara calling, Summer leaves it to Lara & from 25 Yards out being closed down quickly by the resilient Meerkats defence, smashed it into the corner of the goal (identical to her last weeks goal).

10 mins later came the goal of the game - Caitlin taking a short goal kick to Lara, who drives up the pitch with it, calling her defenders out with her, a short pass to Isla saw a 1st time switch ball to Honey, who controlled the ball dead, looked up and curled the ball right into the top corner from 25 yards out almost taking the net off the goal - (no keeper was saving that one)
4-1.
Straight from Kick off, Tara & Lola put the pressure on the meerkats, which forced them to kick the ball out for a corner, another great corner in from Isla saw a goal mouth scramble which saw the ball hit a meerkat hand, PEN given, though harsh, Honey smashed it home to complete her Hat-Trick!

Raiders played one of the best games they’ve played, against a very strong Summertown Meerkats!
